  • EXTRA: The Executive Training for Research Application program develops capacity and leadership to optimize the use of research evidence in managing Canadian healthcare organizations
  • CADRE: Capacity for Applied and Developmental Research and Evaluation in Health Services and Nursing
  • The Canadian Institute for Health Information: Offers various training opportunities throughout the year. Training sessions are offered in various formats including webconference, independent learning, and e-learning.
  • New Psychiatric Vocational Rehabilitation (PVR) Initiative in Canada: In May 2011, the Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation at Boston University will launch a new offering of its award-winning Certificate Program in Psychiatric Vocational Rehabilitation in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Designed to meet the needs of Canadian vocational providers, the training will offer skills, tools, and information in the following topics:
    Engaging people with psychiatric disabilities in vocational services
    Identifying vocational needs
    Facilitating vocational rehabilitation readiness
    Choosing meaningful vocational goals
    Personalizing vocational assessment
    Achieving vocational placements
    Developing essential skills, supports, and accommodations
    Meeting the needs of culturally diverse service participants
  • The Social Aetiology of Mental Illness (SAMI) Training Program: announces its call for applications for the 2011 - 2012 Fellowship. SAMI is based at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health and the University of Toronto, and includes international partners from across the globe. It is the first centre of excellence for the study of the social determinants of mental health and addictions problems and issues.
    Fellowships are for one year, fully funded, research-based, and will help top-class research students further develop their skills in investigating the social aetiology of mental illness.

    Applicants can be either PhDs or MDs with research experience.
