Mental Health Research Studentships

The Alberta Mental Health Board (AMHB) and the Alberta Heritage Foundation for Medical Research (AHFMR) have established a new partnership to support studentships in mental health research.

Building on AHFMR’s tradition of supporting health research trainees, this partnership enables more students to receive funding in the area of mental health. Over the course of the five-year agreement, the number of training positions in mental health is expected to increase by 40-60 per cent. Response to the partnership has been enthusiastic.

Two competitions are held each year. Deadlines for applications are March 1 and October 1.

Applications for the mental health research studentships are available online from the AHFMR website.
