Addiction and Mental Health Research Showcase

The Addiction and Mental Health Research Showcase is a one-of-a-kind conference with a tradition of advancing mental health through research and brings addiction and mental health experts from around the world to Banff, Alberta each Winter. The overall goal is to shed new light on illnesses that continually impact so many individuals, families, and communities - and bring the importance of advancing mental health to the forefront.

The Showcase brings together stakeholders from across Canada with a significant interest in advancing mental health and addiction research in a major forum to explore research, leading practice, and innovation. The event promotes applied mental health and addiction research, bridges the gaps among research, practice, and policy, and encourages the use of research findings to continually improve mental health services and outcomes.

The goals of the Showcase are to:

  • expand mental health and addiction research;
  • bridge the gaps among research, practice, and policy;
  • facilitate partnerships amongst the mental health and addiction research community; and
  • encourage research utlization to continually improve services and outcomes for those affected individuals and their families.

Mending Minds is an informational insert that has been published for every Mental Health Research Showcase since the conference's inception in 2005. All Mending Minds issues are available in the Publications section.

We regret to inform you that the 2010 Addiction and Mental Health Research Showcase has been cancelled. Thank you for your interest in the Showcase. We hope you will participate in the future when we are able to host such events again.
