Combined Medication Review with Behavioural Assessment Screening to Identify Reversible Adverse Effects and Enhance Independent Living in Community-Dwelling Seniors
Dr. Scott Oddie (Red Deer College/Alberta Health Services)
The objectives of this project were to: 1) examine a more effective process of medication review and behavioural assessment in seniors that results in interventions made by pharmacists and physicians to reduce adverse medication effects; 2) increase senior, pharmacist, physician and other care providers’ awareness of the risks associated with polypharmacy; and ultimately 3) Reduce health care costs that result from adverse medication effects. Understanding Discharge Challenges for Senior's with a Mental Illness by Understanding Systematic Limitations
Terry Zibin (Alberta Health Services)
This project explores the perceptions of stakeholders regarding barriers to discharge/placement for seniors with a dementia and/or mental illness along the continuum of care and also identifies areas for improvement related to the successful transitioning of these seniors. Promoting Early Identification and Prevention of Delirium in a Risk Older Adults through an Understanding of the Learning Needs of Individuals Who Have Personally Experienced Delirium
Mollie Cole (Alberta Health Services)
This project was aimed at improving early recognition and prevention of delirium by strengthening older adult and family members’ awareness and understanding of this serious health concern. Her final report can be found here.

The Quality of Life of Adults with Developmental Disabilities and their Families in Calgary: A Pilot Study
Ryan Geake (Calgary Scope Society)
This pilot project was conducted to determine the level of satisfaction with quality of life of adults with intellectual disabilities being served by Calgary agencies and their families. His final report can be found here.

Youth Workplace Mentorship Program
Debi Lafaivre (Vecova Centre for Disability Services and Research)
The objectives of the Youth Workplace Mentorship Program to: 1) increase the employability of youth with complex needs through the acquisition of skills and experience by being involved in a workplace mentorship program; and 2) increase community involvement and inclusion by educating employers about people with developmental disabilities and how they can make a valuable contribution in the workplace. Evaluation of a Group of Intervention for People with HIV, Substance Use and Trauma
Jakalin MacGregor (formerly with Alberta Health Services)
The objectives of this study were to implement and evaluate an innovative intervention. Specifically, the study examined the experiences of participants as well as the utility and efficacy of a manualized, psychotherapeutic twelve-week cognitive-behavioural psycho-educational treatment group provided by the interdisciplinary team of the Northern Alberta HIV program.
